Revitalizing Hudson Riverfronts: Peekskill, November 15, 2012
The fourth organized Revitalizing Hudson Riverfronts training and workshop, organizers Scenic Hudson, NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program and Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve teamed with Historic Hudson Rivertowns and the City of Peekskill to bring the program to Westchester County. VHB Engineering helped sponsor the event.
Turnout surpassed 100 local participants from non-profit organizations, state government and local/municipal governments. Discussion focused on both potential and realized coastal flooding issues, many of which were experienced by locals during the recent Hurricane Sandy event. This slideshow shows a collection of pictures illustrating waterfront impacts from the storm.
