New Video from Restore America’s Estuaries

There is national interest in using nature-based approaches to stabilizing shorelines. Restore America’s Estuaries  is one organization that is providing information on these so called “living shorelines.” They have just released a video on this subject. These techniques have the potential to maintain and enhance important ecological services, provide greater resilience to physical forces, and are cost-competitive with traditional approaches to shoreline management.

Over the past eight years, the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve has lead the Hudson River Sustainable Shorelines Project and developed the information and tools needed by regulators, engineers, and resource managers to identify the best settings, tools, and approaches for nature-based shoreline stabilization efforts.
